School Education Minister Rajmohan inspects free-scheme kit distribution ahead of June 1 reopening

PRESS RELEASE Hon'ble Minister for School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity Thiru Raj Mohan personally inspected the direct distribution to schools of free welfare scheme items — textbooks, notebooks, uniforms and school bags — to be provided to students for the 2026-2027 academic year. ******* At the Kalyanam Girls' Higher Secondary School, Chindadripet, Chennai, today (23.05.2026), Hon'ble Minister for School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity Thiru Raj Mohan personally inspected the direct distribution to the school of free welfare scheme items to be provided to students in the 2026-27 academic year, including textbooks, notebooks, uniforms and school bags. All types of schools in Tamil Nadu are set to reopen on June 1. Accordingly, textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, school bags and other welfare scheme items for the 2026-2027 academic year have been dispatched to all district centres. From the district centres, these items are now being distributed directly to schools. The Hon'ble Minister for School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity instructed school education officials to take the necessary steps to ensure that all free welfare scheme items for the 2026-2027 academic year reach every student on the day schools reopen, June 1.
