PRESS RELEASE Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority Applications invited for 3 posts of Ophthalmic Assistant in the Health Department under the 3% Sports Reservation quota. ------------------------- The Government of Tamil Nadu implements various initiatives and schemes for the development of sports and athletes in the state. Athletes who have participated at national and state levels and won medals in the Olympics and other international competitions representing Tamil Nadu are provided employment opportunities under a 3% reservation quota in government departments and public sector undertakings. Applications are invited under the sports quota for 3 posts of Ophthalmic Assistant in the Health Department, within the 3% reservation for government departments and public sector undertakings. Only sporting achievements earned within the 5 years preceding the year of application will be considered eligible. For team sports, candidates must have participated in at least 50% of matches at the state level. To be eligible, candidates must have either won or participated in the following international competitions: the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, World Championships recognised by the International Olympic Committee and conducted once every 4 years, once every 2 years, or annually by an international sports federation; Commonwealth Championships conducted once every 4 years, once every 2 years, or annually under an international sports federation recognised by the IOC; Asian Championships conducted once every 4 years, once every 2 years, or annually under an IOC-recognised international sports federation; South Asian Federation Games; Paralympic Games; Asian Para Games; and the World Games and Deaflympics organised by the International Blind Sports Federation and the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf. For national-level competitions, only winners of National Championship competitions and National Games conducted by National Sports Federations recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will be eligible. For state-level championships, only winners of competitions conducted by State Sports Associations recognised by the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority will be eligible. At all levels of competition, only senior-level competitions will be considered eligible. Based on the above guidelines, applications are invited through the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority website to fill 3 vacant posts of Ophthalmic Assistant in the Tamil Nadu Medical Paramedical Service.
