Joseph Vijay on social media welcoming the punishment awarded for the sexual assault and murder of a Class 12 student in Vilathikulam, Thoothukudi district. A Class 12 student studying in Vilathikulam, Thoothukudi district, was sexually assaulted and murdered last March. In this case, the Thoothukudi District POCSO Court today sentenced the accused, Dharmamuneeswaran, to a double death sentence. The case was investigated on a fast-track basis, with 71 witnesses examined, and the accused Dharmamuneeswaran was awarded a double death sentence for the offences of sexual assault and murder. This verdict, delivered swiftly within three months of the heinous incident, is welcome, as it firmly supports the Government's efforts to ensure the safety of women and children.
