199 SC/ST students cleared NEET, JEE and other entrance exams via free coaching since 2023: Adi Dravidar Welfare Dept

Press Release Invitation to Adi Dravidar and Tribal students to benefit from special coaching classes for entrance examinations such as NEET and JEE for admission to higher education institutions. The Tamil Nadu Government is implementing various welfare schemes for the socio-economic and educational advancement of Adi Dravidar and Tribal people. Under the State Government's Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, 98 Adi Dravidar Welfare Higher Secondary Schools and 36 Tribal Welfare Higher Secondary Schools are functioning. Since 2023, special coaching classes have been continuously and systematically conducted to enable students studying in the +2 classes in these schools to succeed in 19 types of higher education entrance examinations such as NEET, JEE, CUET, CLAT, CIPET and NIFT, and gain admission into higher education institutions. To effectively face these entrance examinations, coaching is being provided through training institutions selected via the Tamil Nadu Model Schools. All expenses relating to these examinations, including application fees and coaching fees, are borne by the Department. During 2023-2025, 199 Adi Dravidar and Tribal students qualified in the Government of India's special higher-education entrance examinations and secured admission. For the current 2025-2026 academic year, all special higher-education coaching classes for students are being conducted through online and in-person weekend sessions at the Government Polytechnic College, Thuvakudi; Model School, Trichy; EMRS Abhinavam School; Salem Kongu Polytechnic College, Mallur; EMRS Kumizhi; and Model School, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore.
