Water Resources Department Press Release The total water level of the Krishnagiri Dam, Krishnagiri district and taluk, is 52 feet, and its total capacity is 1666.29 million cubic feet. As of today, 26.05.2026, the dam's current storage is 1441.76 million cubic feet, with a water level of 50.00 feet and an inflow of 744 cusecs. Since all the water being received, for the safety of the dam, has to be fully released from the dam, a flood-danger warning is being issued by the district administration to the public residing along the banks and low-lying areas of the Thenpennai river up to the Sathanur Dam. - Current storage of the dam: 1441.76 million cubic feet (50.00 feet) - Inflow into the dam: 744 cusecs; surplus water to be released from the dam: 300 cusecs - If the inflow into the dam increases, water will be released into the river in stages. Further, 1000 cusecs of water will be released within 8 hours. - Villages under flood-danger warning (8 villages): Periyamuthur, Thimmapuram, Sundaikuppam, Paberipattinam, Palveballi, Penneswaramadam, Chowdahalli, Thalihalli. - A flood-danger warning is being issued to people living along the banks of the Thenpennai river in the 3 districts of Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri and Tiruvannamalai. - People living in low-lying areas along the banks of the Thenpennai river are advised to move to safe locations.
