Minister Prabhu opens Rs 20 lakh anganwadi centre in Virudhunagar built via mineral fund

Press Release Department of Natural Resources Inauguration of an Anganwadi centre built at a cost of Rs.20 lakh under the District Mineral Foundation Trust fund in Virudhunagar district. Considering the welfare of children and women in Virudhunagar district, an Anganwadi centre building worth Rs.20 lakh, built under the District Mineral Foundation Trust fund in Manavaseri village, Srivilliputhur taluk, was inaugurated today, 26.05.2026, by Hon'ble Minister for Natural Resources Dr. T.K. Prabhu. Further, approval has been granted to construct 50 more new Anganwadi buildings in Virudhunagar district using the District Mineral Foundation Trust fund, and construction work is under way at various stages. These centres are stated to play a key role in improving welfare services for children and women in rural areas. The event was attended by Srivilliputhur MLA Thiru A. Karthik; District Collector Mrs. N.O. Sugaputhra, IAS; District Superintendent of Police Thiru Sreenatha, IPS; Sivakasi Assistant Collector Thiru Mohamed Irfan, IAS; Madurai Zone Geology and Mining Department Joint Director Thiru Lo.
