Press Release A review meeting on schemes, activities and ongoing works was held on 25.05.2026 at the Commissioner's office, Nungambakkam, chaired by Hon'ble Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Thiru C. Ramesh. The review meeting, held on 25.05.2026 at the office of the Commissioner of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Nungambakkam, was chaired by Hon'ble Minister Thiru C. Ramesh. It was attended by Department Secretary Thiru Se. Kumaraguruparan, IAS; Commissioner Thiru P.N. Sridhar, IAS; and other senior officials of the Department, who discussed various schemes. Token/darshan ticket issuance and crowd management: Aspects such as the online ticket booking system, time-slot allocation, crowd-control measures for devotees, darshan management, and the regulated distribution of tokens were discussed in detail. It was also decided to implement this system first on a pilot basis in major temples and later extend it statewide. Temple security: Detailed discussions were held on protecting temple jewellery, idols, ornaments, temple properties, and antique articles. Temple lands and 'inam' lands: Separate discussions were held on issues relating to temple lands and long-pending inam lands. Review of welfare schemes: The implementation status of welfare schemes run under the HR&CE Department was reviewed, and schemes to benefit devotees were discussed. Educational institutions under the Department: Discussions were held on infrastructure facilities, student welfare, educational standards and improvement measures for educational institutions run under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. Finally, Hon'ble Minister Thiru C. Ramesh stated that the Government is focused on improving temple administration, preserving temple heritage, and safeguarding the welfare of devotees across Tamil Nadu.
