Industries Minister reviews TANCEM, TN Guidance Bureau operations, orders push on cement sales, investment facilitation

Press Release As per the guidance of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru C. Joseph Vijay, a review meeting on the functioning of Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation (TANCEM) and Guidance Tamil Nadu was held, chaired by Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce Selvi S. Keerthana. At the Guidance Tamil Nadu office conference hall in Nandanam, Chennai, today (27.05.2026), Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce Selvi S. Keerthana, in the presence of Industries Department Additional Chief Secretary Dr. S. Vijayakumar, IAS, reviewed the functioning of TANCEM and Guidance Tamil Nadu. During this review, the Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce made the following remarks. She directed that TANCEM must take necessary steps to increase cement sales in the open market as well as to government departments, and must gather data on construction works under way in government departments, ascertain cement demand, and market accordingly. Following this, she advised officials that Guidance Tamil Nadu must take up measures to advance improved manufacturing-sector growth, industrial infrastructure development, and expedite new investments in Tamil Nadu, and further discussed strengthening Tamil Nadu as a leading industrial and manufacturing state.
