A review meeting on the Law Department was held today (27.05.2026) at the Secretariat, chaired by Hon'ble Minister for Energy, Resources and Law Thiru C.D.R. Nirmal Kumar. The Minister undertook a detailed review of matters including the total sanctioned posts in the Law Department, officials and staff currently in service, vacant posts, the law library, the e-library, young lawyers benefiting under the Law Department's voluntary internship scheme, the total number of students in government and private law colleges, seats allocated, basic facilities available in the colleges, and legislative drafting and Tamil translation of laws. The meeting was attended by Law Department Secretary Thiru S. George Alexander; Deputy Secretaries Thiru M. Jeevanandam, Smt. T. Kavitha and Thiru V.K. Suresh; Under Secretaries Thiru S.
