Press Release Review meeting of the Dairy Development Department, chaired by Hon'ble Milk and Dairy Development Minister Smt. C. Vijayalakshmi. A review meeting was held today, 27.05.2026, at the Secretariat, chaired by Hon'ble Minister for Milk and Dairy Development Smt. C. Vijayalakshmi, attended by officials from the Administration Wing, Finance Wing, Sales Wing, Planning Wing, Procurement Wing, Engineering Wing, Quality Assurance Wing, and other wings including the Ambattur, Sholinganallur and Madhavaram Milk Dairies. At the review meeting, the Hon'ble Minister reviewed the state's milk production, milk procurement, the functioning of District Milk Producers' Unions, the activities of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation, infrastructure activities of dairy cooperative societies, ongoing schemes for staff, welfare schemes for cooperative milk producers, sale of milk and milk products, quality cattle feed for animal care, pure milk production, and current project works of the Dairy Development Department. She also advised on the areas requiring greater attention. The Minister also stressed the importance of work relating to the welfare of milk producers and of implementing transparent administration, to all officials. The review meeting was attended by Smt. Anu George, IAS, Secretary to Government, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department; Thiru A. John Louis, IAS, Commissioner and Managing Director, Dairy Development Department; Smt. Va. Kavitha, IAS, Joint Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation; and other officials of the Department.
