Press Release Hon'ble Minister for Natural Resources Dr. T.K. Prabhu inspects quarries at Puliyuran village, Aruppukkottai taluk, Virudhunagar district. Hon'ble Minister for Natural Resources Dr. T.K. Prabhu personally visited and inspected the stone quarries operating at Puliyuran village, Aruppukkottai taluk, Virudhunagar district, on 26.05.2026. During the inspection, the Minister conducted a detailed review of all records maintained at the quarries, including registers, permit documents, and records relating to production and transportation. He also enquired about safety facilities for workers employed at the quarries, occupational health and safety measures, the use of protective equipment, emergency preparedness arrangements, environmental protection measures, and other matters relating to worker welfare. The Minister further directed the concerned officials and quarry management to fully comply with safety regulations and to give priority to the health and safety of workers. The inspection was attended by Virudhunagar District Collector Mrs. N.O. Sugaputhra, IAS; District Superintendent of Police Thiru Sreenatha, IPS; Madurai Zone Geology and Mining Department Joint Director Thiru Lo.
