Energy and Law Minister hands appointment orders to 45 govt assistant public prosecutors, 5 law college bursars

In Accordance with the Directions of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Hon'ble Minister for Energy, Natural Resources and Law Thiru C.D.R. Nirmal Kumar Presents Appointment Orders to 45 Government Assistant Public Prosecutors (Grade 2) and Promotion Orders for 5 Bursar Posts in Government Law Colleges — a Total of 50 Orders In accordance with the directions of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Hon'ble Minister for Energy, Natural Resources and Law Thiru C.D.R. Nirmal Kumar today (29.05.2026) presented, at the Secretariat, appointment orders to 45 Government Assistant Public Prosecutors (Grade 2) selected by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, and appointment orders for 5 Bursar posts in Tamil Nadu Government Law Colleges — a total of 50 orders. Assistant Public Prosecutors Grade-2, who belong to the Criminal Prosecution Wing, conduct criminal cases in the Sessions Courts and Metropolitan Sessions Courts. In addition, on deputation, they serve as legal advisors in various government departments. Steps were taken to fill vacancies in this important cadre of Assistant Public Prosecutor Grade-2 through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, and following the preliminary examination, main examination and interview, 45 persons were selected for the post. The Hon'ble Minister for Energy, Natural Resources and Law presented appointment orders for the Assistant Public Prosecutor Grade-2 post to the 45 persons so selected. Bursars at the Government Law Colleges in Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli and Chengalpattu are responsible for collecting tuition and other fees from students and remitting them to government accounts; disbursing educational scholarships/loan assistance to Backward Class, Most Backward Class, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students studying in these colleges; and handling earned leave surrender, General Provident Fund advances, festival advances and other petty expenditure claims. To fill the five vacant Bursar posts in the above Government Law Colleges, the Hon'ble Minister for Energy, Natural Resources and Law also presented promotion orders to 5 supervisors and managers working in the Directorate of Legal Studies and Government Law Colleges. George Alexander, Director of Legal Studies Dr. Gowri Ramesh, Director of Criminal Prosecution Thiru Keerthi Rajan, and other senior government officials attended the event.
