990 fair-price shops to home-deliver essentials to elderly, disabled residents June 2-3

In this connection, on 2 and 3 June, vendors of the 990 fair price shops functioning under the Cooperative Department across the 18 zones of Chennai — Anna Nagar, Alandur, Perungudi, Sholinganallur, Teynampet, Adyar, Tiruvottiyur, Manali, Madhavaram, Thandaiyarpet, Royapuram, Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, Ambattur, Kodambakkam, Valasaravakkam, Ayanavaram, Kurumbedu and Tambaram — have been directed to deliver essential commodities door-to-door. It has been stated that the elderly and differently-abled persons benefiting under the Chief Minister's Thayumanavar Scheme should make regular use of this facility.
