Hon'ble Minister for Social Welfare and Women's Rights Tmt. Ku. Sekadeeswari Conducts Surprise Inspection of the Quality of Food Items Used Under the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme and Food Distribution to Students at Amaindhakarai and Subbarayan Street Schools, Anna Nagar Zone Hon'ble Minister for Social Welfare and Women's Rights Tmt. Ku. Sekadeeswari today (04.06.2026) personally inspected the functioning of the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme and the functioning of children's centres (Anganwadis) at schools under the Greater Chennai Corporation. The Hon'ble Minister conducted a surprise inspection at the Chennai Middle School at Amaindhakarai, Ward-101, Anna Nagar Zone, and at the Chennai Higher Secondary School on Subbarayan Street, Selaiyur Nagar, and distributed sweets to students who had attended school for the first time this academic year. She then interacted with the students, personally tasted and assessed the quality of food served under the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme, and served breakfast to the students. She instructed officials to ensure that the food items served under the breakfast scheme are of good quality, tasty and hygienic. She further inspected the quality and weight of food items used for the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme and cross-checked the stock registers. During this event, the Hon'ble Minister distributed educational materials — including textbooks, uniforms, notebooks, footwear and school bags — for the current academic year to students studying at the Amaindhakarai Chennai Middle School and the Subbarayan Street Chennai Higher Secondary School. Following this, the Hon'ble Minister inspected the functioning of the children's centre (Anganwadi) at Amaindhakarai, reviewed the recording of children's attendance, weight and height, and instructed staff to ensure that nutritious food provided by the government is given to children without fail, and that the children's welfare centre is kept clean.
