Review Meeting Chaired by Hon'ble Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Thiru R. Vivekanandan Under the exemplary governance of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Hon'ble Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Thiru R. Vivekanandan today, 05.06.2026, conducted a review of the Agriculture Department's activities for the current year 2026-27 with all District Joint Directors of Agriculture, all technical officers of the Directorate of Agriculture, and Ministry staff. At this review, he examined details of central and state government schemes being implemented through the Agriculture Department and the associated fund allocations, the State Government's special scheme activities, measures required to increase cropped area, distribution of subsidised inputs, quality of inputs, measures needed to address farmers' grievances, infrastructure details relating to the Agriculture Department, audit paragraph details, and court case details. Further, in view of the new government having recently assumed office, and having announced in its election manifesto various schemes to raise the income and improve the livelihoods of farmers and agricultural labourers, he advised officials to examine the modalities for implementing these schemes and to formulate new schemes so that they may be announced during the upcoming Legislative Assembly budget session.
