Today (02.06.2026), a review meeting on the functioning of the Handlooms, Textiles and Khadi Department was held at the Secretariat, Chennai, under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Minister for Handlooms, Textiles and Khadi, Thiru M. Vijay Balaji. During the review meeting, the Hon'ble Minister inspected products manufactured by the department such as box files/cases, Ponni mats (jamukkalam), ready-to-wear garments produced by Khadi-ADTEX, corporate gift sets, new fabric designs, and sarees and other garments featuring modern decorative elements.
