A performance review meeting for officials of the Labour Department was held today, 01.07.2026, at the Conference Hall of the Commissionerate of Labour, Anna Nagar, Chennai, under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Minister for Labour Welfare and Skill Development, Thiru J. Mohamed Parvez.
Speaking at the meeting, the Hon'ble Minister said that this Government, under the leadership of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, functions with the welfare of workers at its core, through honest and transparent administration. He instructed that all petitions received at Labour Department offices and at the 20 Unorganised Labour Welfare Boards must be resolved promptly, with no pendency.
He further directed that pending applications for licences on the web portal be resolved immediately, that workplaces employing bonded labourers and child labourers be identified and appropriate action taken without delay, and that all officials report to office on time and discharge their duties diligently.
The Hon'ble Minister also enquired about the functioning of Labour Department officials at the meeting and gave guidance for them to perform even better.
