As per the guidance of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Hon'ble Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Thiru P. Rajkumar, reviewed the functioning and schemes of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board.
During the review, the Hon'ble Minister undertook a detailed examination of schemes implemented by the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, houses/plots pending sale, sale deeds to be issued to allottees, new schemes to be brought up for sale during the current year, Board-rented / Government-rented tenements, the Board's revenue position, administration, details of new land acquisition, petitions received under the Chief Minister's initiative scheme, and the Board's income and expenditure.
The Housing Board has efficiently implemented and allotted various residential units across Tamil Nadu to allottees.
The Hon'ble Minister further advised that new plot development schemes, joint development schemes and commercial complex construction works be brought into use at the earliest.
He also advised that special attention be given to the government employees' own-house construction scheme, the reconstruction of Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board tenements by the Housing Board, and the development of satellite town schemes such as Thirumazhisai, Uchapatti-Mathopur (Madurai) and Mullur (Pudukkottai).
In accordance with the guidance of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Hon'ble Minister instructed that the services provided by the Housing Board and unsold residential units/plots under various schemes across Tamil Nadu be brought online for sale, so that the public can access them quickly, transparently and without difficulty.
He further directed that, going forward, all services and schemes of the Housing Board should be conducted entirely online.
The review meeting held at the Housing Board head office was attended by Thiru Ira. Kirlosh Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Housing and Urban Development Department; Dr. Su. Prabhakar, IAS, Managing Director of the Board; and other senior officials.
