Under the Chief Minister's "Thayumanavar" Scheme, Public Distribution System commodities are being delivered door-to-door to elderly persons above 65 years of age and differently-abled persons. In this regard, on 4 and 6 July, salespersons from 990 Fair Price Shops functioning under the Cooperative Department in the 18 zones of Anna Nagar, Alandur, Perungudi, Tholungnallur, Thenampet, Adyar, Thiruvottriyur, Manali, Madhavaram, Thandaiyarpet, Royapuram, Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, Ambattur, Kodambakkam, Valasaravakkam, Valluvaram, Korompet and Tambaram in Chennai have been directed to deliver essential commodities to beneficiaries' homes.
