Teachers Recruitment Board Clarifies Data-Entry Error Cases in Assistant Professor Exam

PRESS RELEASE Teachers Recruitment Board Whenever the Teachers Recruitment Board issues a notification for direct recruitment, all job seekers within the maximum age limit of 57 years are given the opportunity to apply online, and applications are received exclusively through the website. For applications received online, details such as the applicant's name, date of birth, and photograph are verified against the photo identity document uploaded by the applicant; if any two of these details do not match, the Hall Ticket is issued to the applicant through the website. The Board follows the practice of verifying all details submitted by the applicant in the online application — including name, date of birth, gender, parents' names, religion, caste, educational qualifications, and disability status — only at the time of Certificate Verification, conducted in the presence of the applicant, before results are published. In this context, certain instances have occurred where some applicants have inadvertently entered incorrect details in their online application. Details of such cases are as follows: I. Regarding a job seeker who incorrectly entered their date of birth in the online application: As per G.O. (Ms.) No. 231, Higher Education (F2) Department, dated 06.10.2025, the Teachers Recruitment Board issued Notification No. 04/2025 dated 16.10.2025 for direct recruitment of eligible job seekers to 2,708 Assistant Professor posts in Government Arts and Science Colleges and Government Colleges of Education. Subsequently, the mark list for the 56 subjects of the written examination held on 27.12.2025 was published on the Board's website on 25.06.2026. In this list, for the subject Computer Science/Computer Application, the applicant corresponding to Online Application No. 24ASC032858 had entered their own date of birth at the time of application, and the mark list was published accordingly. In the online application, instead of entering their actual date of birth of 27.09.1991 as shown on their 10th standard mark certificate, the applicant mistakenly entered the date shown in the "TMR CODE NO. & DATE" field of their 10th standard certificate — 05.06.2006 — in the field meant for date of birth. Regarding a case where numbers were entered in place of a job seeker's name: In Application No. 25ASC041667, the applicant submitted the online application with the number "AA 2772011" (their 10th standard mark certificate number) entered in the field meant for their name, instead of their name. Subsequently, on 22.12.2025, a petition was received from the applicant requesting correction of their name, along with proof of identity attached to a copy of the online application. Based on verification confirming these details were correct, the applicant was permitted to write the examination held on 27.12.2025, with the concerned examination centre being instructed accordingly through the Chief Educational Officer. The issuance of Hall Tickets and publication of examination results are carried out solely on the basis of the names and data uploaded and submitted by applicants in their online applications.
