Food Minister Chairs Price Monitoring Review to Curb Essential Commodity Price Spikes

Venkataramanan A review meeting of the Price Monitoring Cell of the Food Supply and Consumer Protection Department was held today (06.07.2026) at the Secretariat, under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Thiru P. Venkataramanan. The meeting discussed measures to be taken to monitor the day-to-day prices of essential commodities and to control instances of price rise. It was decided that a review meeting should be held once every quarter. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. N.
