A review meeting on tourism development project works being undertaken by the Tourism Department and the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation was held under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Minister for Tourism, Thiru Se. Rajesh Kumar.
Today, 07.07.2026, a review meeting was held at the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation conference hall on Salaiyur Road, Chennai, under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Minister for Tourism, on the works of all District Tourism Officers and district-wise tourism development project works.
At the meeting, on behalf of the Tourism Department, the Minister was briefed on works related to essential basic amenities such as drinking water and toilets for tourists, building works, maintenance, beautification works, provision of online ticketing facilities at all tourist spots, and the installation of CCTV surveillance cameras at all tourist spots to ensure tourist safety. He instructed officials to complete these works swiftly with the advice and assistance of District Collectors.
Similarly, at a review meeting of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation officials held this evening, the Minister was briefed on the ongoing operations of Hotel Tamil Nadu, Amudham restaurants, the 15 boat fleets operated by the Tourism Development Corporation, temple guest houses, the 64 tour packages currently operated across Tamil Nadu with 15 luxury buses, and the 8 Quick Bytes outlets, as well as plans to be implemented to further attract tourists.
He directed that the Dynamic Pricing tariff system continue to be implemented at all guest houses on weekends/holidays, that the "Food Festival" being conducted since May at selected Hotel Tamil Nadu restaurants be organised in a special manner, and that biryani at Rs. 99/- and a non-vegetarian feast at Rs. 499/- be made available on weekends and holidays at all major tourist destinations and selected guest-house restaurants. The Hon'ble Minister requested that all officials at every level work together in unity to take the Tourism Department forward on a path of growth and bring credit to the Government.
