Joseph Vijay I was deeply saddened and pained to learn of the tragic accident that occurred on the morning of 5.7.2026 on the Kumbakonam road near Panickankuppam village, Panruti taluk, Cuddalore district, when a Tata Ace vehicle collided from behind with a tractor that was transporting cashew logs from Marungur village towards Panruti in Panruti taluk. In the accident, the following persons travelling in the Tata Ace vehicle on their way to work — Tmt. Sathya (aged 31), wife of Sathish, and Tmt. Selvarani (aged 58), wife of Swaminathan, and Keezhur Mathura, of Sengadambettai village, Krishnagiri taluk; and Tmt. Kanthimathi (aged 60), wife of Kothandapani, and Thiru Ravichandran (aged 58), son of Ramakkannu, of Ayippettai village — sustained severe injuries and lost their lives.
