EDII Chennai to Hold 5-Day Gold Appraiser Training Programme

PRESS RELEASE Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute - Five Days "Gold Jewellery Appraiser Training" The Tamil Nadu Government's Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute (EDII), Chennai, will conduct a five-day "Gold Jewellery Appraiser Training" from 13.07.2026 to 17.07.2026. The training will be held from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Institute's campus. Training Content ✓ Learning to assess the quality of metals such as gold and silver. ✓ Karat assessments. ✓ Acid testing. ✓ Weighing and measurement techniques. ✓ Methods of price fixing (Board Rate). ✓ Procedures for identifying hallmarks and detecting counterfeit jewellery will be taught. ✓ Calculation methods for jewel loans. ✓ Training in gold jewellery-making will also be provided. Career Guidance ✓ Opportunities for gold appraiser positions in public sector, cooperative and private banks, and the procedures to obtain them. ✓ Guidance will also be provided on central/state government loan schemes and subsidies during the training. Interested entrepreneurs (male/female/transgender) above 18 years of age may take part in this training. Those with a minimum educational qualification of 10th standard pass may apply.
