Joseph Vijay, at an event held today (9.7.2026) at the Secretariat on behalf of the Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce Department, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed for a Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) manufacturing plant by Vikram Solar at SIPCOT Gangaikondan Industrial Park, Tirunelveli District, with an investment of Rs. 15,037 crore, expected to generate employment for 2,670 people. About Vikram Solar The Vikram Solar Group has established solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing plants at two locations in Tamil Nadu - Oragadam and Vallam. It has also set up an integrated manufacturing facility for solar PV cells and modules at Gangaikondan, Tirunelveli District. In this context, today (9.7.2026), an MoU was signed for Vikram Solar's Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) manufacturing plant at SIPCOT Gangaikondan Industrial Park, Tirunelveli District, with an investment of Rs. 15,037 crore, expected to generate employment for 2,670 people.
