CM Lays Foundation for Rs 850-Crore Everwin Kothari Footwear Plant in Karur, 6,750 Jobs

C. Joseph Vijay, at an event held today (10.7.2026) at the Karur District Collector's Office on behalf of the Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce Department, laid the foundation stone via video conference for Everwin Kothari Footwear Private Limited to set up a second manufacturing unit for non-leather footwear for Adidas in Karur District, with an investment of Rs. 850 crore, expected to generate employment for 6,750 people. Everwin Kothari Footwear Private Limited is a joint venture between the Kothari Group and the Everwin Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of sports footwear. The company has established non-leather footwear manufacturing projects in Karur and Perambalur districts. The second manufacturing unit, to be set up in Karur District to manufacture non-leather footwear for the globally renowned Adidas company, involves an investment of Rs. 850 crore and is expected to generate employment for 6,750 people. The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu laid the foundation stone for this project today. This will not only further strengthen Tamil Nadu's position in the global footwear manufacturing sector, but the project will also drive industrial growth, exports and large-scale employment in this district, particularly for women.
