CM Opens Renovated Perambur MLA Office, Hands Out New Ration Cards, Inspects EV Bus Depot

Joseph Vijay Inaugurates the Renovated Perambur MLA Office and E-Sevai Centre, Launches Distribution of New Electronic Ration Cards to 73,000 Families across Tamil Nadu, and Inspects the MTC Electric Bus Depot at Vyasarpadi Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru. Joseph Vijay, in Chennai today (13.07.2026), inaugurated the renovated Perambur MLA office and the E-Sevai Centre set up there, and held discussions with senior government officials regarding development works to be undertaken in the Perambur Assembly constituency. He also visited the M.K.B. Nagar Sindhamani Cooperative Fair Price Shop and, as part of launching the distribution of new electronic ration cards to 73,000 families across Tamil Nadu, distributed new electronic ration cards along with rice and other food items to 50 families from the Perambur Assembly constituency. He subsequently visited and inspected the Metropolitan Transport Corporation electric bus depot operating at Vyasarpadi and enquired about its functioning. Inauguration of the Renovated Perambur MLA Office and E-Sevai Centre The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu today inaugurated and visited the renovated Perambur MLA office, located on the main road from Vyasarpadi to Varma Nagar in Chennai, along with the E-Sevai Centre set up there. This renovated MLA office has been equipped with various facilities including ramps and wheelchairs for the convenience of differently-abled persons. At the E-Sevai Centre set up in the MLA office, the Hon'ble Chief Minister interacted with members of the public who had come to apply for various services, including certificates, and personally handed over the relevant certificates to 5 applicants on the spot. This E-Sevai Centre provides 275 services from various government departments to the public. Thereafter, the Hon'ble Chief Minister handed over to the Commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation his letter of recommendation for undertaking various development works worth Rs. 3 crore in the Perambur constituency under the MLA Constituency Development Scheme. Nagar Sindhamani Cooperative Fair Price Shop, located in the Perambur Assembly constituency, and, to launch the distribution of new electronic ration cards to 73,000 of the families across Tamil Nadu who had applied for new ration cards, distributed new electronic ration cards along with rice and other food items to 50 families from the Perambur constituency. New ration cards approved for the respective districts will be distributed immediately in those districts. The event was attended by Hon'ble Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Thiru. P. Inspection of the Metropolitan Transport Corporation Electric Bus Depot Operating at Vyasarpadi The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu today visited and inspected the Metropolitan Transport Corporation electric bus depot operating at Vyasarpadi, Chennai, built at a cost of Rs. 47.50 crore, and enquired about the bus charging operations there. It was also stated on behalf of the Metropolitan Transport Corporation that, on the advice of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, low-floor air-conditioned electric buses will be procured in the days ahead and operated for the convenience of passengers.
