In accordance with the orders of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru. C. Joseph Vijay, the Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered that water be released from the Bhavanisagar Dam in Erode District into the Kalingarayan Canal for the irrigation year 2026-2027, for a period of 15 days from 14.07.2026 to 28.07.2026, not exceeding a total of 648 million cubic feet, for a special watering to save the standing crops in the ayacut area and taking into account the drinking water needs of livestock.
