Joseph Vijay I was deeply saddened and pained to learn that, in the early hours of today (13.07.2026), near Kottampatti, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, a private bus travelling from a town towards Chennai collided with a government bus that was proceeding from Madurai towards Kumbakonam, resulting in the deaths, at the scene, of six passengers travelling on the bus - hailing from Tirunelveli, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, Tenkasi and Virudhunagar districts, aged between 29 and 60 years.
