Giriraj Singh On the instructions of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Hon'ble Minister for Handlooms, Textiles and Khadi Thiru. Vijay Balaji today (13.07.2026) personally submitted the following list of department-related requests to Hon'ble Union Minister for Textiles Thiru. Giriraj Singh. 1. Financial assistance for setting up an Exclusive Powerloom Park in Erode District 2. Silk Export Trade Facilitation Centre (SETFC) in Kanchipuram 3. Initiatives for the development of handlooms 4. Financial approval for Phase II of the Arani Handloom Silk Park 5. GST exemption for handloom products 6. Special component financial assistance for start-ups / first-generation entrepreneurs 7. 15% subsidy on yarn under the Yarn Supply Scheme 8. Setting up a Silver Thread manufacturing unit by Tamil Nadu Zari Limited in Kanchipuram 9. Various pending scheme funds to be released by the Union Government to the State Government 10. Financial assistance for setting up Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) with Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) facility in the Erode, Namakkal and Karur textile clusters 11. Permanent removal of the 11% import duty on cotton imports, currently extended only up to 31.10.2026, keeping in view the welfare of spinning mills 12. Financial assistance for a Government-Industry delegation to undertake overseas visits and awareness programmes to promote technical textile development and increase textile exports 13. Speedy implementation of the SAFE (Site Adjacent Factory Employee Accommodation) scheme 14. Extension of time to implement the Theni Vaigai Hi-Tech Weaving Park project, and suspension of revenue recovery proceedings 15. Reintroduction of the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP), discontinued by the Union Government 16. Request for financial assistance to set up a Marketing & Sourcing Hub in Madurai at an estimated cost of Rs. 10.00 crore, on a 75:25 financial contribution basis 17. Request for financial assistance to set up a Marketing & Sourcing Hub in Tirunelveli at an estimated cost of Rs. 10.00 crore, on a 75:25 financial contribution basis 18. Request for financial assistance to upgrade the Common Facility Centre for the Panchaloha (five-metal alloy) sculpture craft industry at Swamimalai, Thanjavur District, at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.10 crore 19. Request for Rs. 3.00 crore financial assistance to set up a new Common Facility Centre for wood-carving craft in Kallakurichi District 20. Subsidy request for conducting international marketing events and Gandhi Shilp Bazaar exhibitions (3 international / 2 national / 3 state-level / 2 district-level) The Hon'ble Union Minister for Textiles stated that the above requests would be considered favourably.
