A detailed review meeting on the works and activities being undertaken by the Directorate of Town and Country Planning was held today, chaired by the Hon'ble Minister for Housing and Urban Development Thiru P. Rajkumar, with departmental officials. As per the guidance of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru C. Joseph Vijay, a detailed review meeting on the works and activities being undertaken by the Directorate of Town and Country Planning was held today (10.6.2026) at the DTCP office conference hall in the CMDA building, Koyambedu, Chennai, chaired by the Hon'ble Minister for Housing and Urban Development Thiru P. Rajkumar. Earlier at the meeting, the Minister issued appointment orders as Assistant Director in the Town and Country Planning Department to three individuals selected through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. At the review meeting, detailed discussions were held on the administrative structure of the DTCP, departmental framework, development schemes, zonal plans, objectives and key components of the Master Plan, the GIS-based master plan, the composition and membership of planning committees, funds for infrastructure development, the single-window web portal facility, progress of the self-certification scheme, the hillside protection committee, regularisation of unauthorised plot subdivisions/plots, and regularisation of unauthorised educational institution buildings.
