A review meeting on the activities of the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department and the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, as well as on the uninterrupted supply of drinking water during summer, was held today (12.5.2026) at the Secretariat, chaired by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. C. Joseph Vijay.
Following a detailed review at the meeting, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu directed that difficulties in drinking water supply in all districts, including Greater Chennai Corporation, be resolved on a war footing, and that immediate steps be taken to ensure equitable water supply through tanker lorries, new borewells, and alternative arrangements. He also directed all District Collectors to review drinking water supply every Monday and to carry out continuous monitoring.
