SDAT Reiterates June 26 Anti-Drug Awareness Run, Registration Open Till June 22

PRESS RELEASE On the occasion of June 26 - International Day against Drug Abuse, the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority is organising the "Start Run, Stop Drugs Anti-Drug Run" - Enthusiastic students, youth, sportspersons and members of the public urged to register without delay. Under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru C. Joseph Vijay, the Government of Tamil Nadu continues to treat sport as a powerful tool of social transformation. Channelling the energy of the youth in a constructive direction, promoting healthy lifestyles and bringing about positive change in society is the foremost objective of the Government. In its journey towards the noble goal of a "Drug-Free Tamil Nadu", the Government of Tamil Nadu is committed to nurturing a clean, honest and ethics-based sporting culture. June 26 is observed every year as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. In order to create awareness of this day among students, youth, sportspersons and the general public, the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority has made arrangements to conduct the "Start Run, Stop Drugs Anti-Drug Run". This 6-kilometre anti-drug run will be held on June 26 starting at around 6 A.M. from Kamarajar Salai - Journalist Anna Memorial, proceeding to the Ottery statue and back, and then via Napier Bridge to the Island Grounds. Those interested in taking part in the run may register at www.sdat.tn.gov.in up to 22.06.2026. Students, youth, sportspersons and members of the public are requested to register at the earliest to take part in this anti-drug run.
