PRESS RELEASE Condolence and financial assistance to the families of those who died in a road accident on the Pollachi-Valladam main road, Kinathukadavu Taluk, Pollachi Division, Coimbatore District - Announcement by Hon'ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru. C. Joseph Vijay ----- At around 1.45 PM on 11.05.2026, on the Pollachi-Valladam main road in Kinathukadavu Taluk, Pollachi Division, Coimbatore District, five persons — Thiru. Dinesh (aged 37), S/o. Bandhasamy, Tmt. Menaka (aged 35), W/o. Dinesh, and their relatives Selvi. Sneha (aged 23), daughter of Menaka's sister, Selvi. Anishka (aged 17), daughter of Dinesh, and Master Surjith (aged 12), son of Dinesh — were travelling from Pollachi towards Valladam in a Cruiser car bearing registration number TN-30-DZ-9734, when a lorry (registration number TN-29-BU-4402) driven by Thiru. Varadharajan (aged 39), S/o. Murugavel, belonging to Pargur village, Krishnagiri District, travelling from Valladam towards Pollachi at excessive speed and negligently, lost control and collided with the said Cruiser car at the spot. As a result, 1) Dinesh, 2) Menaka, 3) Sneha and 4) Anishka sustained severe injuries and died. I was deeply saddened and pained to hear this tragic news. Further, Thiru. Surjith, who was injured in this accident, was given first aid and admitted for treatment at Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital. I have ordered that he be given specialised treatment. Along with expressing my deep condolences and sympathy to the families and relatives of those who lost their lives in this accident, I have ordered that a sum of Rs. 3 lakh each be given to the families of the deceased, and a sum of Rs. 1 lakh be given to Thiru.
