Review meeting of District/Assistant Directors of the Handlooms Department held under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Minister for Handlooms, Textiles and Khadi Thiru M. Vijay Balaji.
As per the directive of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, a review meeting of the Handlooms Department was held today, 18.06.2026, at the Handlooms Directorate conference hall, under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Minister for Handlooms, Textiles and Khadi Thiru M. Vijay Balaji.
At the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the schemes being implemented by the Handlooms Department, including the scheme for providing veshti-work, the scheme for distributing uniforms to school students, the establishment of the Arani Handloom Silk Park, free power supply to handloom and powerloom weavers, the Handloom Support Scheme, the Weavers' Mudra Scheme, the rebate/subsidy scheme, the functioning of handloom and powerloom weavers' cooperative societies, welfare assistance provided to handloom weavers, and the National Handloom Day celebrations to be held on 07.08.2026.
