Agriculture Minister Seeks Higher Procurement Targets for Green Gram, Copra

PRESS RELEASE Hon'ble Tamil Nadu Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Thiru Vinoth participated in a video conference held by the Hon'ble Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare regarding the procurement of green gram and copra under the Price Support Scheme. Today (18-06-2026), Hon'ble Tamil Nadu Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Thiru Vinoth participated in a video conference on the Price Support Scheme, chaired by Hon'ble Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Thiru Shivraj Singh Chouhan. At the meeting, he requested that the proposal sent by the Government of Tamil Nadu for the procurement of green gram and copra under the Price Support Scheme for pulses and copra be considered and that approval for copra procurement be granted immediately, and that the procurement quantity of green gram be increased.
