Law Course Admissions 2026-2027 - Integrated Five-Year Law Courses offered at the School of Excellence in Law and Government Law Colleges

Every year, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, acting as the agent of the Government of Tamil Nadu, conducts a single-window integrated admission process for the 5-year B.A. LL.B. law programme taught at 26 law colleges established across Tamil Nadu (15 Government Law Colleges and 11 private law colleges, excluding the Central Law College, Salem). The University also conducts student admissions for the 5-year integrated Honours law programmes - B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), BBA.LL.B.(Hons.), B.Com.LL.B.(Hons.) and BCA.LL.B.(Hons.) - offered at the School of Excellence in Law.
Following the publication of the 'notification' regarding applications for law courses for the academic year 2026-2027, in newspapers and on the University website on 14.05.2026, completed application forms were received online from applicants until the closing date of 05.06.2026 - a total of 6,668 for the School of Excellence in Law and 16,050 for the affiliated law colleges across Tamil Nadu. As the first step, the cut-off marks for admission to the 5-year integrated law degree programmes at the School of Excellence in Law (SOEL) of Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University and at the University-affiliated Government Law Colleges were officially released by the University on 17.06.2026.
Following this, a ceremony to distribute admission allotment orders to the top-ranked students in the merit list was held today, June 22, 2026, at around 6:00 P.M., at the University's "Poombozhil" campus on Dr. T.G.S. Dinakaran Road, Chennai 28.
At this event, Hon'ble Minister for Energy, Resources and Law, and Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Thiru C.D.R. Nirmal Kumar, presided and personally handed over admission allotment orders to top-ranked students, delivering a special address.
Also present to preside and felicitate the top-ranked students were Hon'ble Justice Thiru V. Bharathidasan (Former Judge, Madras High Court, and Chairman of the University Coordination Committee), Tmt. P. Sumathi (Secretary to Government, Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu), Thiru E. Om Prakash (Senior Advocate, Madras High Court, and Member, University Coordination Committee), Prof. (Dr.) Gowri Ramesh (Registrar, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Director of Legal Education (FAC), and Chairperson, Law Admissions Committee 2026-27), Prof. (Dr.) Se. Balaji (Outside Vice-Principal, School of Excellence in Law), and Prof. (Dr.) Ranjith Ummen Abraham (Coordinator, Law Admissions Committee).
The event was also attended by members of the Law Admissions Committee, Thiru S. Kathiravan, Thiru Rahul Raghu, Dr. B. Viswanathan, and Dr. M.D. Chinnu, along with other University officials, staff, and the parents of the top-ranked students.
The 'allotment letter' will be uploaded on the Law University website from 23.06.2026. For the convenience of applicants, the University has communicated the procedure for downloading the 'provisional allotment order' via email and SMS.
