TN Announces Best Tamil Book Awards 2025; Rs 50,000 Prize per Category

Press Release Tamil Development Department Tamil Nadu Government Award for Best Tamil Books Published in the Year 2025! Tamil Writers Can Apply! With a view to safeguarding and fostering the richness and intellectual heritage of the Tamil language, the Tamil Development Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu, annually implements the 'Best Tamil award scheme'. Under this scheme, entries are invited for first-edition Tamil Books published between 01.01.2025 to 31.12.2025. The competition features 33 categories: Traditional Poetry, Modern Poetry, Novel, Short Story, Drama (Prose, Poetry), Children's Literature, Literary Criticism, Language History, Linguistics, Language Development, Grammar, Books Translated into Tamil from Other Languages, Fine Arts (Music, Painting, Dance, Sculpture), Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Technical Terms/Neologism, Administrative Tamil, Travel Literature, Biography, Autobiography, History of Country, Epigraphy, Archaeology, Maritime & Trade Routes, Excavation, Mathematics, Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Technology, Anthropology, Sociology, Geography, Geology, Law, Political Science / Politics, Economics, Commerce, Management Studies, Pharmacology, Physiology, Health Science, Tamil Medical Books (Siddha, Ayurveda), Religion, Spirituality, Logic, Education, Psychology, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Environmental Science / Ecology, Computer Science, Folklore, Tamil Literature by Diaspora / Overseas Tamil Writers, Journalism, Mass Communication, Other Special Publications, Sports / Games, Women's Literature, Tamil Life and Culture / Tamil Lifestyle. The author of the book selected as the best in each category will be awarded a prize amount of Rs. 50,000/- and the publisher who published the book will be awarded Rs. 25,000/-, along with a certificate of appreciation.
