Gandhiraj today (29.06.2026) hoisted the cooperative flag to launch "Cooperative Week-2026," to be celebrated across Tamil Nadu by the State's Cooperation Department. Gandhiraj hoisted the cooperative flag today (29.06.2026) at the Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Chennai, launching "Cooperative Week-2026," which will be celebrated in grand style across Tamil Nadu by the State's Cooperation Department. Marking the completion of five years since the formation of the Union Ministry of Cooperation, "Cooperative Week" will be celebrated across the State in a grand manner from 29.06.2026 to 06.07.2026. This eight-day "Cooperative Week-2026" has been planned both to bring home to the public the importance of the cooperative movement and to encourage the introduction of modern digital technologies in cooperative societies. Extensive arrangements have been made for all cooperative institutions, banks and Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies (PACS) in Tamil Nadu to fully participate in these celebrations. On the inaugural day of the event, today (29.06.2026), Hon'ble Minister for Cooperation Thiru V. Gandhiraj hoisted the cooperative flag, administered the pledge, and inaugurated the celebrations. Cooperative Week-2026 was launched with the cooperative pledge being taken at all cooperative offices and societies across Tamil Nadu. During Cooperative Week-2026, special events and camps will be held daily across the State on various themes, including an explanation of PACS computerisation, creating awareness of digital banking services among customers, planting saplings, competitions for students, and exhibitions of cooperative achievements. Accordingly, 29.06.2026 has been designated as the Inaugural and Cooperative Pledge Day; 30.06.2026 as PACS Transformation and Digital Cooperation Day; 01.07.2026 as Farmers' Appreciation Day; 02.07.2026 as Technology and Digital Awareness Day; 03.07.2026 as Cooperative Dialogue Day; 04.07.2026 as Green Cooperation Day; 05.07.2026 as Youth Cooperation Day; and 06.07.2026 as National Cooperative Conclave Day. Based on the above themes, "Cooperative Week-2026" will feature various events each day, including cultural programmes by students, KCC (Kisan Credit Card) awareness camps, special camps explaining cooperative society schemes, special camps to facilitate easy access to loans through cooperative societies, simple digital banking services, free blood donation camps and veterinary medical camps, and exhibitions and sales of cooperative products.
