As I contested as the Assembly candidate for the Villivakkam constituency, people directly conveyed various grievances to me when I went among them. Wherever I went, I too personally inspected basic facilities and learnt from the people. I am consolidating all of this and conveying it department-wise to the officials. Special attention must be paid to this, and necessary steps must be planned and taken to complete these works within a specified period. As per the advice of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, women's safety must be ensured. The police department must take stringent action to control the sale of narcotics. Keeping women's safety in mind, TASMAC shops located along paths frequented by women must be removed and relocated to the outskirts of the town. At present, as per the orders of the Hon'ble Chief Minister, one TASMAC shop located near an educational institution within the Villivakkam Assembly constituency has been removed. There are currently 11 TASMAC shops in this constituency. Steps must be taken to further reduce the number of these shops. Roads must be repaired. Steps must be taken to grant pattas to people who have been residing on government poromboke land for a long time. Schemes must be implemented for the people without causing them hardship. Street lights must be installed wherever needed. Transformers in some places have been installed at a low height; steps must be taken to raise them as per proper guidelines. Steps must be taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply, including setting up the necessary substations. The Greater Chennai Corporation must plan and carry out road repair works and the construction of new roads wherever required. Steps must be taken to set up separate powder rooms for women. Immediate protective measures must be taken to safeguard women's safety and to protect students and the general public from narcotics. Police personnel must receive complaints from those visiting police stations in a courteous manner and take action. Surveillance cameras must be installed in all police stations. Steps must be taken to inform the public about the toll-free number 94987 94987 to contact the Electricity Department office regarding power outages. Goods must be supplied without any shortage at ration shops. Most ration shops are functioning in rented buildings; steps must be taken to shift them to government-owned buildings. Steps must be taken to set up an engineering college, an arts and science college, and higher secondary schools within the Villivakkam Assembly constituency. Utmost attention must be paid to fulfilling the basic needs of the people. Steps must be taken to control stray dog nuisance and to prevent cattle from roaming on the roads. As per the orders of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, in order to provide corruption-free administration, schemes needed by the people must be completed excellently within the stipulated time without any lapses. All departmental officials must extend full cooperation towards this. He stated that this government will function as a government for people of all sections.
