PRESS RELEASE Tender invited for procurement of paper roll for printing tickets issued through Electronic Ticketing Machines (ETMs) in Tamil Nadu Government Transport Corporations. Information from the Government of Tamil Nadu Transport Department. With a view to reducing the expenditure of the Government of Tamil Nadu Transport Corporations and augmenting revenue, at a consultative meeting held under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Minister for Transport, Thiru A. Vijayathamizhan Parthiban, it was proposed that by printing advertisements on the reverse side of electronic tickets, the ticket rolls be procured free of cost for the State Transport Corporations, thereby reducing their expenditure. Pursuant to this, as per the direction of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, an e-tender has been floated, as a first phase, for the free-of-cost supply, for six months, of paper rolls worth approximately Rs. 9 crore for printing electronic tickets. Details of the tender have been published on the website https://tntenders.gov.in. Manufacturers, small, medium and large business establishments/advertisers/printing establishments and their authorised dealers/agents and other entities are invited to submit the paper roll — printed with advertisements on the reverse — for free supply, for a period of six months, to all Tamil Nadu Government Transport Corporations.
