Presenceless Registration mandatory for flat and plot first sales from August 17

REGISTRATION DEPARTMENT Presenceless Registration – Meeting and Demo Session to Resolve Doubts and Queries – Regarding. Various reforms are being undertaken by the Registration Department of Tamil Nadu with the aim of enhancing transparency and public convenience. As a part of this initiative, it is planned to mandate the "Presenceless Registration" system for the first sale (1st Sale) of flats and plots starting from 17/08/2026, and in the future, other types of document registrations will also be brought under this system. In order to address the doubts arising among promoters, bankers, and financial institutions regarding this new procedure, and to explain the presenceless registration process through a Demo, a meeting has been arranged. The meeting is scheduled to be held on 23.07.2026 at 10:00 AM under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration at Amma Maligai, Greater Chennai Corporation Office. Therefore, promoters, representatives of the Builders' Association of India (BAI), CREDAI, bankers, and financial institutions are requested to participate in this meeting, clarify their doubts, and provide their feedback, suggestions and recommendations to extend their full cooperation for the successful implementation of this scheme.
