CEO office holds workshop on EVM and VVPAT verification in Chennai

PRESS RELEASE A workshop on checking and verification of EVMs and VVPATs was organised by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Tamil Nadu in Chennai on 27.7.2026 as per the extant instructions of the Election Commission of India based on the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. The workshop was attended by the District Election Officers, Deputy District Election Officers, Returning Officers and other officials of Chennai, Kancheepuram, Sivagangai and Virudhunagar districts, where applications for checking and verification of EVMs have been received. Thiru A.Sivagnanam, IAS, Additional Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu, presided over the workshop. The Administrative Standard Operating Procedure for checking and verification of EVMs was briefed by Thiru V.Sridhar, Additional Chief Electoral Officer and State Level Nodal Officer for EVM. This was followed by a detailed presentation on the Technical Standard Operating Procedure for checking and verification of EVMs by Thiru Sreenivasa Rao, Deputy Manager, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bengaluru.
