Fire Department's "Come and Learn" Safety Programme Returns to All 385 Stations June 6-7

PRESS RELEASE The Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services Department serves the people of the State with the noble motto, "WE SERVE TO SAVE." The primary responsibility of the Department is to safeguard lives and property from destructive fires and to respond promptly and effectively to natural calamities such as floods, storms, and landslides, as well as man-made disasters. To create fire safety awareness among the public, the department launched the "COME AND LEARN" initiative last year with the objective of encouraging people to visit nearby Fire and Rescue Services Stations and learn essential fire safety practices. Around 50,000 members of the general public participated in the awareness training programme and benefitted from it. Considering the encouraging response received from the public, and with a view to further spreading the importance of fire safety awareness, the department has planned to conduct the "COME AND LEARN" awareness programme on 06.06.2026 and 07.06.2026 from 11.00 AM to 12.00 Noon and from 04.00 PM to 05.00 PM at all 385 Fire and Rescue Services Stations across the State. The general public may visit their nearest Fire and Rescue Services Station and participate in the awareness programme.
