Today, 01.07.2026, the Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education, Thiru. Se. Viswanathan, released the rank list for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 at the Directorate of Technical Education.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, the Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education stated:
The rank list for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2026 is being released today (01.07.2026). This year, 2,45,235 candidates registered and paid the application fee for Tamil Nadu Engineering Counselling. Of the candidates allotted rank numbers this year, 1,30,767 are male students, 1,05,245 are female students and 5 belong to the third gender, taking the total to 2,36,017.
This year, 50,494 candidates who studied in government schools from Class 6 to Class 12 applied under the 7.5% reservation quota allotted by the government. Of these, based on documents furnished by the School Education Department, rank numbers have been issued to 46,604 candidates. Under the sports quota, 7,981 candidates applied this year. After verification of their sports certificates, rank numbers have been issued to 3,210 candidates. Rank numbers have also been issued to 1,176 candidates under the ex-servicemen's wards category and 500 candidates under the differently-abled category.
The number of candidates who scored a perfect 200 out of 200 cut-off marks is 53. Of these, 39 candidates studied under the Tamil Nadu State Board and 14 studied under other boards. Candidates can check their rank number through the website www.tneaonline.org. Candidates who had applied but whose names are missing from the rank list, or who have other grievances, can approach their nearest Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Facilitation Centre (TFC) within 6 days from today, i.e., on or before 06.07.2026, to register and get their grievances resolved. Candidates who studied in government schools from Class 6 to Class 12, were eligible for the 7.5% government quota, but were left out, can also visit their nearest TFC to have their names included on or before 06.07.2026.
To clarify candidates' doubts, they may contact the Directorate of Technical Education's helpline at 1800-425-0110. So far, doubts have been resolved for 32,843 candidates through the call centre, 10,125 candidates through email, and 1,497 candidates in person.
