Press Release To mark the 52nd birthday of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Hon'ble Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Thiru. P. Sengodarajan, today (01.07.2026) inaugurated a free eye check-up camp organised by Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital for students, teachers and parents at the Government Higher Secondary School in Ward 123, Devanesan Pettai, Mylapore, under the Greater Chennai Corporation. The Hon'ble Minister stated that such camps help detect students' vision problems at an early stage and provide timely treatment, thereby helping to improve their academic performance. Arrangements were made to provide students with eye examinations, free consultations, treatment recommendations, and spectacles for those in need. The Minister subsequently visited the Integrated Child Development Centre (Anganwadi, Scheme-11) at Nochikuppam in Mylapore, inspected the nutritious food, health facilities and care activities provided to children there, and directed officials to ensure that quality services continue to be delivered. He also distributed notebooks and educational materials to the children and wished them well in their studies for a bright future. The events were attended by concerned department officials, the school headmaster, teachers, doctors and staff of Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital, Integrated Child Development Scheme workers, local body representatives, parents and members of the public.
