Press Release Condolence and financial assistance to the family of a Head Constable who lost his life in a vehicle accident near Therpogi village, Devipattinam, Ramanathapuram district Announcement by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru. Joseph Vijay In the early hours of today (15.6.2026), within the limits of Devipattinam Police Station in Ramanathapuram district, police personnel led by an Assistant Inspector seized a tractor engaged in illegal sand transportation. As Head Constable Thiru. M. Mageshkumar (aged 41) was driving the tractor to Devipattinam Police Station, a government bus travelling from Nagercoil towards Velankanni on the Ramanathapuram-Tiruchi National Highway unexpectedly collided with the rear of the tractor. Head Constable Thiru. M. Mageshkumar sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. I was deeply saddened and anguished to learn of this tragic news. The loss of Head Constable Thiru. M. Mageshkumar is an irreparable loss to the Tamil Nadu Police Department and to his family. I convey my deepest condolences and comfort to the grieving family of Thiru. M.
