CM Honours Top-Performing Collectors, Police Officers at Conference

Press Release Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru. C. Joseph Vijay honours District Collectors and Police Officers who performed exceptionally well, with awards at the Conference of District Collectors, Police and Forest Officers. Under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. C. Joseph Vijay, the Conference of District Collectors, Police and Forest Officers was held over two days, 29.6.2026 and 30.6.2026, at the Namakkal Kavignar Maligai hall in the Secretariat. On the first day of the conference, 29.6.2026, the Conference of District Collectors and Police Officers commenced with the inaugural address of the Hon'ble Chief Minister in the forenoon. The Conference of District Collectors was held that afternoon. On the second day, today (30.6.2026), the Conference of Police Officers was held in the forenoon and the Conference of District Collectors and Forest Officers in the afternoon, both under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Chief Minister. Over the two days of the conference, the Hon'ble Chief Minister directed District Collectors, Police and Forest officials to pay close attention to basic amenities such as ration, education, drinking water, healthcare, electricity, roads and bus facilities, law and order, safety of women and children, and environmental protection, and to serve the people honestly, sincerely, without bias and promptly. At the conclusion of the conference, Green Awards for 2024-25, on behalf of the Environment, Climate Change and Forests Department, for outstanding work in environmental protection and development in Tamil Nadu, were presented to former Dindigul Collector Tmt. M.N. Poongodi, IAS, former Tiruvallur Collector Dr. T. Prabhusankar, IAS, and former Pudukkottai Collector Tmt. I.S. Emerci Ramya, IAS; On behalf of the Tamil Development and Information Department, awards for 2023 for effective implementation of the Tamil Official Language Scheme were presented to former Sivaganga Collector Tmt. Asha Ajith, IAS, and former Kanniyakumari Collector Thiru. P.N. Sridhar, IAS; On behalf of the Department for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, the award for 2024 for outstanding service to the welfare of differently abled persons was presented to former Virudhunagar Collector Dr. V.P. Jeyaseelan, IAS, and the awards for 2025 were presented to former Dharmapuri Collector Tmt. K. Santhi, IAS, former Ranipet Collector Dr. Se.U. Chandrakala, IAS, and former Thanjavur Collector Tmt. Pa. Priyanka, IAS; On behalf of the Public Department, the Best District Collector Award for 2025-26 for satisfactory redressal of petitions received under the Chief Minister's Special Cell was presented to former Kanniyakumari Collector Tmt. Ra. Azhagumeena, IAS; On behalf of the Public Department, the Best Commissioner of Police Award for 2025-26 for satisfactory redressal of petitions received under the Chief Minister's Special Cell was presented to former Avadi Commissioner of Police Thiru. K. Sankar, IPS; On behalf of the Health and Family Welfare Department, awards for 2025-26 for outstanding performance across all 20 health indicators were presented to former Dindigul Collector Thiru. S. Varavanan, IAS, Coimbatore Collector Thiru. Pankumar K. Kariyappanavar, IAS, and former Namakkal Collector Tmt. Durga Murthy, IAS; On behalf of the Prohibition and Excise Department, awards for outstanding performance in curbing crime were presented to former Villupuram Superintendent of Police Thiru. Va.Se. Sai Praneeth, IPS, former Ariyalur Superintendent of Police Thiru. Visvesh Balasubramaniam, IPS, former Krishnagiri Superintendent of Police Thiru. Pe.
