Press Release To mark the birth anniversary of Perunthalaivar Kamarajar, the Directorate of Information and Public Relations to conduct various special competitions for students and the public under the theme "Let's Celebrate Education" (Kalviyai Kondaduvom) To realise the noble dream that "every child must receive education," he dedicated his entire life to education, built thousands of new schools, implemented the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, and opened the doors of education to poor and underprivileged boys and girls. As a result, student enrolment in schools rose and the dropout rate declined. In commemoration of this educational revolution, On the orders of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. C. Joseph Vijay, to mark the birth anniversary of Perunthalaivar Kamarajar, and to spread the importance of education and encourage students' creative and critical thinking, the Directorate of Information and Public Relations will conduct a series of special competitions under the theme "Let's Celebrate Education." Details of the Competitions 1. Quiz Competition This competition is being held to make school students aware of Perunthalaivar Kamarajar's contributions to education and social development. Categories: Classes 5-8; Classes 9-10; Classes 11-12. 2. Instagram Story Competition Given the growing dominance and reach of social media, participants must create and share a creative Instagram Story centred on the theme "The Great Man who Built the People" (a screenshot of the shared story must be submitted). Category: Open to all. 3. Poster / Painting / Photography Competition On the theme "Education without Boundaries," participants must depict a vision of future education — where children can learn anytime, anywhere, with the aid of technology — as a painting, photograph, or an AI-generated poster. Category: Open to all. 4. AI Prompt Creation For school students: Create a realistic AI-generated image depicting a personal encounter with Perunthalaivar Kamarajar, and submit it along with the 'Prompt' used to create it. The image should reflect his simplicity and passion for education. For the general public: Create an AI-generated work featuring a poem or quotation celebrating Kamarajar's vision or leadership, and submit it with the corresponding 'Prompt'. Note: Prizes will be awarded for the best creative work and the best Prompt. 5. Special Talent Competition (Short Video) Participants must record and submit a 1 minute 30 second video showcasing their special talent related to Perunthalaivar Kamarajar. Themes: A Letter to Kamarajar; If I Were Education Minister for a Day; Education is the Greatest Wealth; A Book that Changed My Life; Kamarajar and the Education Revolution. Category: School students (Pre-KG to Class 5). 6. Short Film Competition Participants must create a short film based on one of the following themes: 1. Let's Learn... Let's Create: Should highlight learning, friendship, equality and dreams. 2. The First Graduate: Should depict the impact of a first-generation learner and the change it brings to their family and society. 3. Education is Seen in Character, not Just in Books: Should convey that the true meaning of education lies in our conduct and in respecting others. (Note: Duration must be between 3 and 7 minutes.) Rules (Summary) Quiz Competition: Students must participate only in the category corresponding to their class; each student may participate only once; if multiple entries are submitted by the same student, only the first entry will be considered. Instagram Story: The Story must be created around the specified theme, posted on the participant's own Instagram account, and a screenshot submitted; the Story must remain public for 24 hours; copied or copyrighted content is not allowed; the official hashtags (#kalviyaikondaduvom, #TNOfficialUpdates) and Instagram handle must be tagged. Poster/Painting/Photography: Entries must be in JPG/JPEG/PNG format, maximum 2 MB, and must be entirely the participant's own original work; no watermark, logo, signature or name should appear; entries unrelated to the theme will not be considered. AI Prompt Creation: School students may participate only in their designated category; the entry must be submitted as a PDF with the AI-generated image followed by the complete Prompt used; each student may submit only one entry. The same conditions apply to the general public category; content containing violence, obscenity, hate speech, or anything harmful to religious or social harmony is prohibited. Special Talent (Short Video): Open only to students from Pre-KG to Class 5; maximum duration 1 minute 30 seconds; maximum file size 100 MB; may be created in any creative format including speech, acting, poetry or storytelling; the video must be in Tamil only; the student's face must be clearly visible and their voice recorded. Short Film Competition: Open to the general public; duration 3 to 7 minutes; maximum file size 100 MB; must be based on one of the three specified themes.
