CM Trophy 2026 sports meet registrations open from August 6

PRESS RELEASE Chief Minister's Trophy - 2026 Online registration to participate in the sporting events opens from August 6 ------- The Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority conducts the Chief Minister's Trophy sporting events every year across Tamil Nadu at the district, zonal and state levels. Held with the objective of promoting sports, the Chief Minister's Trophy sporting events are an excellent initiative to involve people from all walks of life in sports. Recognising and encouraging talented sportspersons, and awarding them due recognition and prizes, is the main objective of these competitions. The Chief Minister's Sports Trophy events, which have received a tremendous response from the public, will begin at the district level on 4th September. Those interested in participating in the sporting events are requested to register, with the necessary documents, on the website tncmtrophy.sdat.in from 06.08.2026 to 31.08.2026. In addition to the 38 sporting events held last year, new sports such as Archery, Wushu, Shooting, Yoga, Wrestling, Speed Skating, and the water sports Kayaking and Canoeing have been added this year, taking the total to 45 sporting events, to be conducted at district, zonal and state levels from September to October. These competitions will be held for: students studying from 6th to 12th standard, who are under 19 years of age (born on or after 01.01.2008); students studying from first year undergraduate to second year postgraduate courses and polytechnic students (born on or after 01.07.2001); the general category aged 15 to 35 years; and differently-abled persons of all ages and government employees. At the district and zonal levels, winners in individual events will be awarded Rs.3,000 for first prize, Rs.2,000 for second prize, and Rs.1,000 for third prize. At the state level, winners in individual events will be awarded Rs.1 lakh for first prize, Rs.75,000 for second prize, and Rs.50,000 for third prize. In team events, winning participants will be awarded Rs.75,000 each for first prize, Rs.50,000 each for second prize, and Rs.25,000 each for third prize. All those interested in sports are therefore requested to register for the Chief Minister's Trophy sporting events through the website tncmtrophy.sdat.in.
